Spitin' on a Rat

One day while some friends and I were walking to our local watering hole, we found a dead rat in our path. Some of my friends decided that we should start spitting on it, while one friend decided to try and save the rat from such disrespect. She picked it up by its decaying tail and waved it toward the spitters so as to frighten them off. Eventually the rat was tossed aside, and thereafter every time we passed by on the way to our watering hole we paused to spit on it.
