I was just wondering. Nessie's breeder said she would be about 20lb. She is now 13 weeks at 5lb. I'm reading that the average is about 15 to 18lb. I'm guessing she is about 6 inches tall.

Oh my Jasper, at 110 lb that's 22 Nessies or Jetsons!

I used the little calculator I made:

http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_convert.php

Muka's about 18 lb, and he's 14-1/4" at the shoulder... 1/4" over the standard.

He has a nice trim waist, and I weigh him often to be sure he doesn't get too thin.

Angie,

As I know you are concerned about the cost of dog food (as we all are)... I hope you didn't actually buy a baby Giant Schnauzer! LOL

Peter, My wife just said to me, That Muka at 18lb is what Jasper weighed when we first took him to the vet's at 9 weeks old. Ha.
But I must admit he is a little over what he should be, they say 47kg is the ideal.

Nitro is just about 15" at the shoulder, almost 1" over the breed standard and weighed 20# at last week's vet's visit.  Vet says he's in great shape, can feel ribs and he has a waist (covered with lots of hair, though!).  At 2 1/2 years, he's right where he should be.

I can't wait to see what Nessie will be at!! And just how she will be when she's all grown up!! I will miss the puppy days, but not the "terrible two's" too much.

Lona is 11 lbs fully grown at a year and a half.  She's turned out to be a very petite little Schnauzer!  The cat is bigger than she is! lol

What a beautiful picture!

I just visited someone with three Minis, all under 15 lb and they looked so small (cute!) compared to Muka. But I actually wanted a bigger Mini... and got one!

Peter

Thank you! (it's cause i have such purty models  ;) )

PS:
We're actually currently on a waiting list through MSR and i secretly hope we'll get paired up with a bigger mini when we find a good match for Lona (& Larry!).
