STAR   Star

I sure do miss you.  You are with me every day.
I will meet you at the Rainbow Bridge and we will spend forever together.
You will never be replaced, but I do have a new little girl.  Raven and she really keeps me busy.
Love your Mommie

When I lived in Florida and retired I finally decided that I wanted another Schnauzer.  I was so lucky to find Star.
Star   Star  was a rescue.  She was 2 when I found her.  The lady that had her was a horse rescuer.  Her friend had left Star when she was 6 months and told her she was going house hunting and never came back.  Melissa's husband would not allow Star in the house so she had to stay outside with a bloodhound for 1 1/2 years and then Melissa put an ad in the paper and I just happened to see it and called.  Melissa said that I was number 7 who had called, but she knew that I was the one for Star.
Star never got into anything, never dug,  never barked unless someone came to the door and never "screamed"  ha ha from the minute I brought her home.   She really was the "PERFECT DOG". and the PERFECT LADY.
Then we moved to Battle Ground, WA .  We were here about 1 1/2 years when one evening she started limping.  I took her to the Vet the next day, they drew fluid from her leg  that was swollen.  and 2 days later the Vet called and Star had a Mast Cell tumor.  8 days later she could not walk on that leg and was whimpering.  Back to the Vet and the cancer had already spread to her lungs and the tumor had also grown.  The vet made some suggestions, but I didn't agree and could not see her being on pain/steroids meds. and no chance of her getting better.  So Star went to the Rainbow Bridge.
 Sure do miss that girl.

She was beautiful Harriet, in looks and personality it seems. What a wondeful story and glowing tribute to her and you.

I so understand this, it was the same with our last dog Molly. We have to do what is best and kindest for our animals and not let them suffer because we can't bear to do the right thing.

What a wonderful Star she was. Seems like she loved you very much and it was mutual. A great companion indeed and she will be missed. Shooting Star
